Quotes on Love from my Reading List of 2017

In this blog on Valentine’s day I am sharing some of my favorite quotes from recent books that I have read. There are so many more in classics and my all-time favorite novels but for now, here is a glimpse into my reading list of 2017.

Although published a few years ago, this book continues to be extremely popular amongst young adults and adults alike for giving a fresh perspective on love and Sufism.

40 rules

” The way to a man’s heart can sometimes take a woman far away from herself, my dear.” -Elif Shafak, 40 Rules of Love

This is one of my favourite books on the year 2017, there are broader themes discussed in the book among other things, the love between man and woman.

Arundhathi 2

“Love, after all, is the ingredient that separates a sacrifice from ordinary, everyday butchery.” ― Arundhati Roy, The Ministry of Utmost Happiness.

Here is my review of the book, https://cymareads.com/2017/11/19/first-blog-post/

let me know what you think.

Exit West also has a broader theme than just love, that is in fact not the sole focus of the book. I would be reviewing this one soon so stay tuned! For now here is a quote I really liked from the book.

mohsin h

“if he understood, at some level, that to love is to enter into the inevitability of one day not being able to protect what is most valuable to you.” ― Mohsin Hamid, Exit West

I have read three more books by Colleen Hoover, this one happens to be my favourite. Here I am sharing a very powerful quote than forms a very powerful theme for the book.

it ends

“In the future . . . if by some miracle you ever find yourself in the position to fall in love again . . . fall in love with me.” ― Colleen Hoover, It Ends with Us

They say loe is a very powerful motivator, so here is some motivation for you to pick up some of these wonderful titles. Happy Reading and Happy Valentine’s Day.
